Matt has been serving as the Lead Pastor of Hope City Church since 2024. His journey to faith is a powerful testimony of God's grace and transformation. Before stepping into ministry, Matt had a hardened heart toward the Lord, and despised Christians and their values while living for worldly pursuits.
In a surprising turn of events, Matt received a wrestling scholarship to California Baptist University, a pivotal moment where God's grace began to work in his life. Despite his resistance, God met Matt in his college dorm room in 2010, giving him a second chance and completely transforming his heart for Jesus Christ.
Following college, Matt spent several years working as a janitor and wrestling coach in California. During this time, he crossed paths with a pastor named Tim Giannosa, who became a spiritual mentor and friend. Through discipleship, Tim ignited in Matt a passion for sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and building teams. In 2015, Matt answered the call to ministry, a call that continues to shape his life and leadership today.
Matt and his wife, Stephanie, are blessed with three children: two sons, Uriah and Jett, and a daughter, Demi. Together, they are excited to be part of what God is doing in and through Hope City Church.
