Hello friends,
Did you know that only 51% of churchgoers know the “Great Commission”? This was Jesus’ final command to His disciples that we see at the end of Matthew 28.
I believe that if Jesus said it, it’s important!
“Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age’” (Matthew 28:18-20 NLT).
We are called to make disciples. That means that we are not to leave someone where they are, but invite them to join us on our walk with Jesus.
I had a mentor pass on this advice: “We all need a Paul, and we all need a Timothy.”
In our Christian walk, we need to have someone in our lives that is older in the faith that can pour into us, and we need to find someone younger in the faith that we can pour into them!
As we head into summer, be praying that God brings you a Paul and/or a Timothy. Maybe He has already placed someone on your heart to invite into your faith walk with you? As you travel and are around others, look for opportunities as God presents them!
Let’s go and make disciples in our city!
Blessings,
Pastor Matt
